Headline: I've got a self righteous bone in my body!
two old friends arrive at a mutual intersection. they discover that they are travelling in the same direction and agree that the road would be more easily traversed together. as they walk, first one strikes up a tune then the other. before long they are singing the road, turning their journeys into a series of stories and observations. other friends on the road join in and soon the pair are beginning to realise their footsteps in a musical dialogue. as they build and reshape their stories the road takes them through Tasmania, where they first met, and up along the east coast through northern NSW, sometimes with friends, sometimes without. all the while the road is offering up inspiration and adversity that in turn becomes a lyric, a melody, an idea. the road goes on. in 2006 the album debut for grumpy neighbour, 'sheep manure $2 a bag, bullshit for free' puts some of these songs on record.

in 2008 grumpy neighbour complete their second Tasmanian tour within 6 months, have made substantial inroads into recording their follow up album 'boy sitting on a bag of potatoes' and start making plans for a Californian tour in 2010 after making a several influential people at Cygnet 2008. the excitement of this last tour was put into sobering perspective with the passing of their bass player, Jen, from a long time illness while on tour.
the new album will be dedicated to her memory. Jen will be sorely missed by us all.
