Nadia Turner, the talented and diverse artist with the big hair, and the great set of pipes, "wowed" millions of viewers around the world with her beautiful, sultry voice, and unique sense of style on American Idol FOX TV 4th Season. Nadia made it to the top eight finalists of more than 100,000 contestants. Since exiting the American Idol show, Nadia Turner has made guest appearances on the Ellen DeGeneres, J. Leno, and the Tony Danza shows. After returning from a successful 43 City Tour, Nadia Turner has received numerous honors and attended many VIP events. Named after Nadia Comaneci, born and raised in Miami with unique American, Caribbean and European roots. Nadia personifies all that is South Florida, from her love of soca, meringue and reggae music, to bowling and roller-skating. Nadia Turner is a Singer, Songwriter, Actress and Radio/TV Personality. Her music genre is Rock, Soul, Funk. Nadia is a very talented and versatile artist. Her well known rendition of “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me” by Dusty Springfield can be found on “Showstoppers” the American Idol 4th Season CD which went GOLD, selling over 500,000 copies. Nadia loves all types of music. Some of her musical influences include a variety of artists ranging from Jimmy Hendrix, Roberta Flack, Prince, and The Eagles to Billie Holiday. Many including Simon Cowell have referred to her as a young Tina Turner. Nadia Turner has had the honor and privilege to work with re-known Grammy producer Richard Aspinwall. Richard Aspinwall has garnered two Grammy Awards and can be heard on recordings for Garth Brooks and many other artists, which sold over 50 million copies. Nadia Turner spends most of her time working on her album. Her debut album is slated for release in late Spring. Music has always been her first passion, and her second is theatre. She attended art-driven schools in Miami from elementary throughout college at Florida International University. Nadia Turner has a lead role in the Urban Romantic Comedy “Lord Help Us” directed by Shavar Ross. Debra Wilson from Mad TV, and Scary Movie 3, and Margaret Avery, Academy Award nominee, also star in this movie that is scheduled for worldwide release in May 2007. The movie is currently being played in film festivals across the country. Nadia Turner recently guest co-host on “The View” with Barbara Walters and Rosie O’Donnell. Unlike most people, Nadia knew exactly what she wanted to do from birth. She started singing when she was about five years old, however, it wasn't until the age of seven when her mother noticed that Nadia was most comfortable singing in front of an audience. Nadia won her first trophy at age eleven in the Betetees Sorority talent show. She won her first pageant at age fifteen singing in the Miss Martin Luther King, Jr. pageant. She continued to compete in many other talent driven pageants in the U.S. and the Caribbean. Nadia Turner has performed and hosted many charities such as Big Brother and Big Sister Annual Fund Raiser at the American Airlines Arena, UM Sylvester Cancer Foundation, The Pet Project and SOS Children Village. As a former Dolphins Cheerleader she also sang the National Anthem for the Miami Dolphins, the Miami Heat games and is the face of the concert for the Florida Marlins 2007 Season Opener. She was recently invited to Kuwait by a bloodline of Kuwait’s royal family to perform at a private New Year’s Eve party with over three hundred guests. One performance that Nadia holds most dear to her heart is when she sang to President Clinton and seven world leaders at the G8 Summit in Okinawa, Japan.
