ALKATRAZ Born in Honduras a small country in Central America and raised in the bitter streets of New York City. Growing up in the ghetto as a young African Latino,Andy Guity better know as ALKATRAZ had to adapt to a society in which his nationality was considered a minority within the minority. As he became a customized to this new environment he faced incredible odds that helped him understand the true meaning of survival of the fittest. ALKATRAZ recalls Due to the fact that when I left home early in the morning to go to school I did not know if I was going to be returning back home because of the shoot outs that would occur after school as well as in my own neighborhood. These were some the trials and tribulations that Andy suffered and inspired him to first grab a pen and paper. At the age of fifteen Andy realized the effect that the music he wrote,Rap Hip Hop had his community.Thus he found one of his biggest passions in life. Later on,he used this passion as a gift to unite all youth within the community in which he then stood out as a young Lyrical scientist.With his creation of expressive phrases and deep thoughts, the people immediately identified with his individuality and subsequently embraced him with open arms. It was then when ALKATRAZ began to interact within the music industry and the Hip Hop public itself Catching the attention of promoters,Mix Tape DJs, Radio DJs, A&Rs, and music labels. In spring of 2007 Hip Hop Producer Rap Artist Swizz Beatz wanted something different,a new voice for his street remix of..Its Me Snitches.. ALKATRAZ Latin swagger and heavy voice complemented the track so much that it was re-titled ITS ME SNITCHES.DA LATIN CROSS OVA the song Created a buzz through out the streets of New York City and the music industry in general. Catching the attention of Dee and Waah the C.E.Os of one of the largest American Urban Record Labels known as the Ruff Ryders.Now doing songs with multi Platinum selling Artists such as Mikey Santos from Aventura, two times Billboard Award winner for 2007 R&B singer Toby Love,Full Surface Records Rap Artist Cassidy.ALKATRAZ is now not only ready to be heard,but to take action and Refresh Hip Hop with his style and blend of Music.
